How can I send email in WINDOWS APPLICATION ?

Hi I want to send email using smtp mail from windows application. Can you guide me how it can be done ??? I m not able to do it. Please do reply me. Thank you bhavin

Nice and simple: Add a reference in your application to the System.Web.dll. Add a using statement at the top for System.Web.Mail. Create a MailMessage object assign all of the appropriate values and use the SmtpMail static class to send the MailMessage object. Example: using System.Web.Mail; (snip) MailMessage mm = new MailMessage(); mm.From = somebody@somewhere.com; mm.To = someone@someplace.com; mm.Subject = This is the subject; mm.Body = This is the body; SmtpMail.SmtpServer = mail.somewhere.com; SmtpMail.Send(mm); There are other properties you can set also such as using Html formatting but I'll leave that up to you to discover.

You can use any assembly that implements it but System.Web.Mail implements it and it comes with the .NET 1.1 SDK. Add a reference to it and IMPORT the namespace. See the online help on usage. Another one you can use is here. http://www.example-code.com/csharp/sendEmail.asp
