Dear dd dd, Please let me know if you are beginner in web development or have some experience. Web Applications means program that runs in web browser. So you need some language or scripts to display the interface in web browser. For this you need HTML/CSS and javascript. For server side programming you can use C#. There are plenty of books which can guide you for the web application development or you can learn via videos from youtube. google for "tutorial for developing web applications using C#" , you will have plenty of resources pdf, ebooks , videos. I prefer you to learn from youtube videos.

Web applications is divided into 2 parts client side and server side . For server side programming you can use C# but for client side you should use html/css also javascript. also you need some framework to work with e.g. .NET framework.
