How database log file effects our application performance

How database log file effects our application performance??? If database log file is very heavy like 150gb .Can it effects our application performance?? Need suggestion.

hi SQL server transaction log file has internal structure called VLF(virtual log file). when increase no of VLFs and they go to out of controls then log can become fragmented and cause delay.
