how do i write query that contains '%' character in config?

I need to pass query something like Select * from EmpTable where EmpName LIKE '%ARP%' in application configuration file. ?

put query in your code and use sql paramters  it will solve this issue

I haven't implemented UI. It's an small application read log files to generate report so that I could analyse the report. So I thought I will pass the query through config file.

I did not understand. Did you mean to concat % in code?

Try to add  %  instead of % in configuration file. In your code you can replace same( % ) with %. Secondly why are you storing SQL query in config file?
