How does SQL server stores data?

An interviewer asked me I have thousand records in a table. How SQL sever stores data into memory or disk? Please explain in details.

Hi Manish It helps me out to some extent but for your understanding I am giving you one example. A table has one row containing 10 columns so how SQL stores data in memory either its on contagious memory location or in paging of 8 KB size. Please forward me some more references so that I may understand the concept clearly. Thanks for your help.

Hi Azim There is a lot of answer because you can backup the table. Backup Table This backup table can store any drive or local hard disk. Generate Script You can create the Script any table or store procedure or complete database. This script can hold all data (thousand of data).
