Jay's code is on the right lines though it's better to get into the habit of using parameters. If the text of the button increments every time a voter presses it then - after the first vote has been cast - you will need to do an update query rather than an insert query. The rest of the code would be exactly the same. Unless you're worried about losing votes if there's a system failure there's no need to update the database every time a vote is cast but you can do so if you wish.
