How to access serialport in windows 7

i have a C# application i wrote in visual studio on windows xp sp2,it has been working fine until i upgraded to windows 7 and i cant access my serialport again.what might be the possible cause. is their compactibility settings or update for vs2008.?

What is the error and what is the source code that is encountering the error? You don't need to show all the code but it would probably help to show a few relevant lines of the source code. The most important thing is to show the complete and accurate error message. Also check your program to ensure that you are using try/catch everywhere that is relevant.
