First of all double click on the button in the VS designer to create a 'skeleton' Click event handler into which you can insert the following code. If you want to add what's in the textbox as a single item to the listbox insert this code: listBox1.Items.Add(textBox1.Text); If it's a multi-line textbox and you want to populate the listbox with the contents of each line insert this code: listBox1.DataSource = textBox1.Lines;
