How to Add window service reference in client C sharp project .

Hi all i created one window service now i want to add its reference in my Client C sharp project but i am not able to add refrence plz help

As a general rule windows services don't interact with the desktop as they run in a separate 'windows station' and it's best to keep it that way. If I were you I'd write the values to a file. The service can then check periodically whether the file has been updated (you could use the file's time-stamp for this) and read the data. If for some reason you don't want to use a file then you could use a named pipe to communicate directly between the two processes.

There are very many articles about Windows services and how Windows services can communicate with applications. Named pipes is one. I think the most common solution now is to use WCF; you should be able to find articles about using WCF for this.

hi thanx for your replay. i created one window service in which i written Database connectivity. i hard coded the values and it is working fine now i want to insert values from my C sharp project UI means i want to give values from my C# project to window service. for this i want to take reference of window service like we take web reference but its not coming.is it possible to pass values from UI to window service?? i hope u got what i want to do.

Well a windows service is a special kind of executable - it's not a code library - and so I don't understand why you'd want to add a reference to it to another application anyway? If your service uses classes which you'd like to use in other applications then I'd create a separate code library project for them. You will then be able to add a reference to the resulting .dll file to any other suitable project.
