How to apply index in asp.net

hi friend i want to apply index to database table for example there are 10 columns in my database & want to apply index on one column through c# at run time so how can i do it.please help me thanks

I'd create a DataView from your DataTable and then set its Sort property to whatever column you want to index on. For example: DataView view = dataTable1.DefaultView; view.Sort = Name; // sort by Name column in ascending order - for descending use Name DESC You can then display the records by binding to the DataView rather than the DataTable
