How to Calculate Employee System (PC) Working Hours

Hi i want to know how to calculate System working hours for employee expect Idle Time.. Any one can help this.

Here are the idea Create a app that will run in system try (Force employee to login into app when they arrived at office) This applications will monitor machine activity including keyboard and mouse and based on that activity it will goes into idle time mode and store that info in DB
