how to calculate sum for every 5 rows in sql

hi iam new to sql Database.i have a problem my table is like this

1 | xyz | 15

2 | xyz | 54

3 | xyz | 787

2 | xyz | 455

3 | hhh | 58

3 | hhh | 789

3 | hhh | 478

3 | hhh | 7855

and i want result like this .

Hi Nag Assuming that you wish to calculate the total sum for each of both the products that you have in column 'name'(4 rows for product xyz and 4 rows for product hhh) within your table you can use the aggregate SQL function SUM() along with 'Group By' clause in a SQL query just like in the following example: SELECT t.name SUM(t.amount) AS Total FROM table_name t GROUP BY t.name GO As a result of the grouping performed you will have: ---------------- name|Total 1|hhh |9180 2|xyz |1311 ---------------- I hope that the provided example helps.
