How To Change Name Of Database.mdf exixts Physically

Question

We can change the name of database through command and it reflect in SqlServerManagement Studio But the name do not get change physicallyy stored in MSSqlServer/Data folder on the System. How We Do That

hello Vikas Singh I hope this will helpful for you. 1.Rename SQL Server Database using T-SQL ALTER DATABASE oldName MODIFY NAME = newName or EXEC sp_renamedb 'oldName' 'newName' 2.Rename SQL database using detach and attach EXEC sp_detach_db 'oldName' 'true' EXEC sp_attach_db @dbname = N'newName' @filename1 = N'c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data	est.mdf' @filename2 = N'c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data	est_log.ldf'
