am developing a hospital dbms using vb.net and i have no idea on how much to charge the client; is there any criteria followed when charging a software kindly help

Very complicated. It is this sole reason I closed my consultancy business and resorted to full time employment. One thing you should look into is feature comparison with your competitors and how much do the charge. This would be a good starting point and bench mark. Your customers are going to review all comparable software and their respective price. Typically you will be asked like You don't have this and this feature and why are you charging this.
