How to connect xampp mysql database to visual studio?

Question

i want to connect xampp mysql to visual studio 2013 .I've read many article's about that problem but any solution is not perfect for solve problem.In visual studio 2013 choose data sourse window don't have mysql database option for connect mysql.

have you tried MySql Connector that is necessary. If you have any problem related to data providers . then check it out from here : http://blog.nwoolls.com/2012/07/25/registering-missing-data-providers-with-visual-studio-2012/ Sometimes it happens mysql installed but it is not showing in Data Source. So just check it out that . Hey Nilesh I've already use mysql connector but after successful installation then in visual studio server explorer--> Add new connection --> choose data source it is not show mysql database option for selection so that not work in visual studio 2013

Hey Neeraj You have to first download My Sql for VS from here -> http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/visualstudio/ Then you have to download a connector . you get that from this -> http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/ After you install both Links into your PC. Then in Visual Studio Server Explorer --> Add New Connection --> Choose Data Source - -> Select MY SQL Database .-- > OK. You will see Add Connection Dialogue Box open. Here make it like this : Server Name: localhost Username: root password: * user perspective* [whatever you want ] You also can test the connection i.e Database is working or not. For that Click Test Connection . When all things get set . Just Press OK . You are ready with you My Sql Server. Hope this will help !!
