use xml namespca. there is helper classes xmlwriterxmlreaderxmltextwriter.... read the doc with streamreader and wrte with xml hlper classes

Use System.RunTime.InteropServices to create instance of MS Word open the .doc file in the instance and then use SaveAs method of the instance to save opened document in xml format.
