how to disable close button in window

Hi Please follow below steps: Step 1: add jquery in ChatWindow.aspx page: Step 2: Add below script in ChatWindow.aspx page: window.onunload = function() { $.ajax({ type: POST url: ChatWindow.aspx/BrowserCloseMethod data: {} contentType: application/json; charset=utf-8 dataType: json success: function(msg) { } }); } Step 3 : add below code in ur ChatWindow.aspx.cs file: [ScriptMethod] [WebMethod] public static void BrowserCloseMethod() { // Write Custom Code } Please let us know if you are facing any issue.

sir thank you so much for your reply.... I am opening a window in asp.net as( window.open('ChatWindow.aspx' '_blank' 'top=610 left=1150width=220height=450titlebar:notoolbar:nostatusbar:no')) as we know that it has minimizemaximize and close(X mark)....when close(x mark) is clicked how can i call code behind method...pls suggest me clearly

Hi yadagiri use this Java Script: window.onbeforeunload = function(){ return 'Do you want to leave ?';} You cannot disable the close button but you can prompt a user if one really wants to leave. Happy Coding :)
