How to display dropdownlist value

Question

Hi I am having label in one page MonthYear. Label MonthYear have values like Jan-2010Feb-2010Mar-2010 and so on. I pass this value to another page by using QueryString. But unable to show this value on the another page dropdown . I want to set this value on the another page dropdown. Pls help Eagerly waiting for response. Thanks Anurag

hi anurag i predict ur requirement is that u have dropdown list in page 2 with all the month names and u just passing the month name from page1 in querry string and u need to highlight the same in the ddl if so here is the way in page 2 string mon=Request.Querystring[mon].ToString(); for (int i = 0; i { if (ddlfedMarital.Items[i].Value == mon) { ddlfedMarital.SelectedIndex = ddlfedMarital.Items.IndexOf(ddlfedMarital.Items[i]); } } this is how u can hightlight the passed value in ddl hope it helps u

Also make sure that before setting the selected index clear the dropdown selection by ddlfedMarital.clearselection() as dropdownlist in asp.net does not support multiple selections and it will lead to a runtime error. It is always a good programming practice to clear selection() before setting the selected index for a dropdown.

access querystring on another page like string _monthyear=Request.QueryString[QID].ToString(); and then add in dropdownlist as DropdownList.Items.Add(_monthyear);
