Well first of all variables are memory locations (not objects or values) and in the case of static variables they are always memory locations on the heap. They exist from when the containing class (or struct) is first accessed until the application domain is destroyed. However if the static variable is a reference type it can either refer to an object of that type or to no object (null). If it refers to an object then that object can be disposed of in just the same way as any other object which implements IDisposable by calling its Dispose() method. However because static variables never go out of scope they (and any other references to the object) need to be set to null to allow the garbage collector to reclaim the memory used by the object. Before it was set to null the static variable only contained a reference to that memory.

Static variable uses in app domain so you can't dispose. When we reset server then these automatic dispose for example when we do iisreset then these are atomic dispose and get previous stage. In web avoid static variable use cache instead of this
