Hi The best I was able to find to serve my purpose was google's api from the post titled On Google's Unofficial Dictionary API. It returns JSON for a query like http : //www.google.com/dictionary/json?callback=dict_api.callbacks.id100&q=coffee&sl=en&tl=en where coffee is the keyword. Hope this will help you. thanks
