How to embed a XAP file in asp.net page?

Question

How to embed a XAP file in asp.net page? I have created a Sliverlight Appilcation and it runs fine. but now i want to use this XAP file in another asp.net application. How can i embed a XAP file cretaed earlier into an asp.net page. i know about the object tag and its parameters what other things i have to do? please mention the steps to embed a xap file into an asp.net page. i know if we choose Slilverlight application template then xap file is implicitly embeded into the asp page. but if we want to move that xap file into another asp.net website then what are the files need to be transfered and what are the changes need to be done in the coding.

The above solution is specific to silverlight 2. In case of Silverlight 3 you can use the object tag.

Hi you can try following the steps below to embed a xap file in asp.net page: First install Microsoft Silverlight Tool for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 ( http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=128134 ). On installing this package you will see Silverlight controls in the Toolbox. From the AJAX Extensions in the toolbox drag and drop the 'ScriptManager' between the opening and closing tags of the form element in the Default.aspx page. Then from Silverlight options in the toolbox drag and drop 'Silverlight' control after the closing tag of the ScriptManager in the Default.aspx page. Once you have dropped this control a register directive is added to the top of the page. Right click on the web site in the project and choose Add à Existing Item. Navigate through the folders to locate the compiled Silverlight application (this is the .xap file). In the asp:Silverlight tag in the Default.aspx page add a 'Source' attribute and mention the name of the .xap file you have added in the project. eg: Source=~/SilverlightApplication.xap Now u can build and run the project!!
