Try below query for finding blocking of a particuler spid (server process id or session id). select * from sys.sysprocesses where blocked 0 If you find any row then pick the sql_handle column value and try in below query select * from sys.dm_exec_sql_text (0x03000800AD4A4F486957F00058A6000001000000) This will show query why sql server is blocking
