You can crack password using third party tools for which you have to pay https://www.elcomsoft.com/asqlpr.html It only works up to the version SQL2008

I think it is not possible to retrieve the password but you can reset it by using Login property or by SQL Query

If SQL Server was set up to allow local admins you can simply reset the password by connecting with a domain/local admin.
