how to fire serverside logic event from client side

hi i have a requirement i.e when focus in in the text box i have to perform some server side operation as text box do not have focus_in server side event only client side is there so how to perform the database logic in my text box focus in event. Any Help Would be Appreciable... Thanks in Advance

I am not answering your question just sharing some thoughts. So far as possible try to avoid it. Think about what exactly you want to achieve it. There are always some better ways to perform a task than you think. How about WebAPI call using ajax? Something like that. Remember once thing there are many ways in which you achieve what we want to achieve but there is always a methodical systematic way and you should always look for it. Sorry for the lecture.
