how to generate a autoincreament value serially in a textbox

Hi. For that first you need to save a value in db as 0 and when you create a new employee you need to retrieve the value from db. If the value is 0 then you need to increment by 1 and append e with that number and assign it to that textbox. And make sure that textbox is readonly so that nobody can change it.
