how to get data in property class while using EDMX.

Question

Hello i am using database first approach in my project. my question is that when we are us store procedure in edmx then edmx will generate property class according to first select command of the store procedure. if we have conditional multiple select query's in store procedure. so how would be edmx will decide to generate property class and fill the results in fields. i am getting error while store procedure will execute second or third select command. i am sure that edmx will take only first select command fields and generates property fields accordingly.

still you did't understand my question. i know sp will return data according to action but. if action will 'second' or 'third' then how edmx will get data. try it then you will face the exact error.

hi yes you are doing good. procedure return data according your @action input value. use procedure in your code and pass parameter as per your input.

step 1: create a store procedure like this. create procedure GetDataTest ( @action varchar(10) ) as begin if(@action='first') begin select * from Story end if(@action='second') begin select * from story_file_mapping end if(@action='third') begin select * from Wallet end end here is three select query's each query have different fields. step 2: add it into Edmx. step 3: then call store procedure with parameter action.

yes that's ok that we can only get first select statement. but my question is how to get conditional select query's data in property class. got it..
