How to handle exception in stored procedure in sql

Hi frnds Please give the example for exception handling in stored procedure.which I can explain an interview. I went for the interview they asked me this qus I said to them and like try catch but they didn't satisfied.please give me example

Hi Anjali. You can use try catch in store proc like following. CREATE PROC Test as BEGIN BEGIN TRY -- Table does not exist; object name resolution -- error not caught. SELECT * FROM NonexistentTable; END TRY BEGIN CATCH SELECT ERROR_NUMBER() AS ErrorNumber ERROR_MESSAGE() AS ErrorMessage; END CATCH END Mark as answer if you find helpful.
