To highlight a text, you need to set its background color like this: Chunk dog = new Chunk("the lazy dog", new Font(Font.TIMES_ROMAN, 14, Font.ITALIC)); dog.setBackground(new Color(0xFF, 0x00, 0x00), 10, -50, 20, -10);

Thanks for your reply. I tried to make use of Chunk method as suggested by you. But I am not getting how to read an existing pdf file and set the background color of a perticular text in the pdf. e.g, I am reading a pdf like this: PdfReader read = new PdfReader ( "C:\Test.pdf" ); let's say the pdf contains text like : " iTextSharp is an efficient tool to work on pdf file." Now I want to highlight a perticular text say "iTextSharp" of the existing pdf file. So after reading the pdf how to use Chunk method to highlight the text.

I am able to read and create a pdf file using iTextSharp dll. But I am not to search a perticular text in a pdf and highlight it. Please suggest if you have any idea. Thanks!

Hi, What 3rd party application are you using in accessing the pdf? If you don't have a 3rd party application yet, try using iTextSharp.
