You can set the UserID field as Identity. Ex: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[YourTable] ( UserId [int] IDENTITY(11) NOT NULL UserName varchar(100) NOT NULL ) Here it autometically insert one incremeneted value into your table. Or At the time of insert you can try this. Insert into YourTable (UserID UserName) values((SELECT ISNULL(max(UserID)0)+1 FROM YourTable ) 'YouName'). Both way you can try.
