Shashi Suthish is correct; it is normal to ask if something is a class assignemnt. You must understand that every time that someone provides code in a reply to a thread here and it is code that they wrote to help someone such as you they are volunteering their time. The purpose of these forums is to share knowledge and experience. Sometimes you get lucky and someone choses to volunteer their time too. For class assignments the best way to help a student is to help them understand but not do all their work for them. It can often require more time to explain something than to just do the work for someone. As for myself if I can't figure something out I would prefer to understand how to do it instead of having an example. If I have a good explanation then I don't need an example. For many people it is easier to write an example than it is to write a good explanation but for me at least I think a good explanation is best. For me sometimes all I want is to know where to go to read the documentation explaining what I need to do.
