how to make difference between two months format mm/yyyy

Dear Friends I have one task When product expiry date is reached alert should come before one month likeyour product is expired after 30 days. I am storing expiry date in the format  mm/yyyyy . how to acheive this task without dd part? Please suggest me. Regards Prasanna.

Hi Do you need a fixed format then use the following code. Mention your date format in the following code (MM /yyyy ) and Use capital  MM  in your format it display the month otherwise  mm  one is display minute.When you pass any date in date object it will display like this  5/1/2016 12:00:00 AM . So we can format this date using String.Format in C#. since you don't have dd part  when you compare dates you can assume it is 01 by default...

Add below code to DateTime object: string myDate = 05/2016 ; // May 2016 DateTime myDateObj = DateTime.ParseExact(myDate MM/yyyy  CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); //5/1/2016 After conversion you will get 1st May 2016 as result. Next you can implement your own logic to display alert...
