how to pass datetime parameter via uritemplate as a string?

Dear All am facaing a problem .that is i want to pass datetime varable via uri template .am trying to pass but its showing show error like bellow please help me peration 'TrackTripHistory' in contract 'IService' has a path variable named 'CheckedInTimeFrom' which does not have type 'string'. Variables for UriTemplate path segments must have type 'string'.

Suppose your date is 21/9/2009 So when you are sending it to service make it like 21-9-2009. So you need to change it from your client side when you sending Json data to webservice . public History GetTripHistory(string Number string CountryCode DateTime? CheckedInTimeFrom DateTime? CheckedInTimeTo DateTime? CheckedOutTimeFrom DateTime? CheckedOutTimeTo string VehicleDetails) { } If above method will throw you exception then you can use string instead of Nullable datetime. public History GetTripHistory(string Number string CountryCode string CheckedInTimeFrom string CheckedInTimeTo string CheckedOutTimeFrom string CheckedOutTimeTo string VehicleDetails) { DateTime myDate; if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(CheckedInTimeFrom)) { myDate = DateTime.Parse(CheckedInTimeFrom); } // Parse other variables like above one. } Note: Please don't pass date as 21/9/2009 format. If you want to pass then you have make couple of modification it UriTemplate. In order to avoid this please use 21-9-2009 - it will be easy to parse.

Looks like variable CheckedTimeForm is not getting correct value type string. Either string is mismatching or you are sending data improper way. Are you sending date in '08/08/2015' format?? Please provide your code and also tell how you are consuming the webservice.
