how to pass textbox id as parameter to javascript function

hi folks I have 6 textboxes in my pages i want to pass the which textbox get required to call the javascript function. i am using this keyword but it show the unspecified . Thank you in advance

add a hidden field to page and function getValue(obj){ hiddenfieldid.value=obj.id ; alert(obj.id); } and on severside you can get hiddenfield value
