How to pass this variable to main method

please take a look at image and assist me how I pass that value to main method. I already have tried something like so = this.newPageID or so = this.PageId or something similar Please help.

set property only take input. But if you want to retrieve output from the property then you use get. In your senerio there is no need of PageID property as already you are getting the value by the statement this.newPageID. But still if you want to use PageID property then try first assign value to PageID property somewhere in the application and on page_load use Response.Write(this.PageID); To show the value

I'm probably missing something but if this line works for the newPageID property: base.PageId = this.newPageID: then I'd have thought that a similar line should work for the PageID property because the coding is analogous. So when the page is first loaded 'value' won't have been added to ViewState and the property 'getters' will therefore return 0. Otherwise the latest 'value' will be returned.
