hi Agree with Vulpes... but you can also bind Distinct value to the drop down when you first time bind drop down. just one correction object[] distinctItems = (from o in comboBox1.Items select o).Distinct().ToArray(); comboBox1.Items.Clear(); comboBox1.Items.AddRange(distinctItems);

If the combobox is not data-bound then this should work: object[] distinctItems = (from object o in comboBox1.Items select o).Distinct().ToArray(); comboBox1.Items.Clear(); comboBox1.Items.AddRange(distinctItems); If it is data-bound then you'll need to remove the duplicate items from the underlying data source and then rebind.
