how to retrieve the data from the another server

how to retrieve the data from the another server (LAN ) through coding normally we give connection in web config file as i need to retrieve the data from another server

Your connection String is correct If you are using local machine for database server you can use . 127.0.0.1 or localhost all are same If you computer has sql server express edition is installed then by default the name of the database server instance is SQLEXPRESS otherwise you can also put only the server name. One Workaround you can at first check whether you are able to connect SQL SERVER by putting VALUED-HO1E64NO\SQLEXPRESS in server name uid and password thanks- Jayant

Hi if you are using Local server than no need to give ip address just put this between connection string in web.config file. providerName=System.Data.SqlClient/> thanks
