hi frd my question is regards to search . i have text box and button when i clik tht button it has to display all the data if it is relevent to the data else it has to say no data . more clearly i want something like search fourm in this website when u clik on search it will get the data same way i need the solution either it is from database or index service cheers bhasker alle

I didnt get you. Are you looking for searching a particular field (column) by its name in a database?? Try this. select * from INFORMATION_SCHEMA.COLUMNS where COLUMN_NAME LIKE '%EMP NAME%' This will tell you if there are any column available in the database by name EMP NAME. Grab it in a dataset and populate wherever you want in the aspx page.
