How to select and view pdf word files from a location on a hard disk.

I am having a touble with selecting and viewing pdf and word files from hard disk in asp.net . can someone tell me how. Please put codings.....

hi u found good solution now instead of using fi.Name use fi.FullName it will work...!!

i think in asp.net may be that control is not available which shows files and folders bt you can implemet it by your own and after that you can use this code in code behind: Response.ClearContent(); Response.ContentType = application/pdf ; Response.WriteFile( ); Response.End(); you can also use this code instead of iframe tab both work same! n please mark anwser if it will help you

Using one ifram tag you cant show multiple files.. when we take the image tag  are we providing multiple imageurls? same way in iframe you can provide sigle file with src thats why if you want to list multiple files then you have to use the code behind by looping!

Ok i can get a valid href link but now i cant open the file using the tag. It gives the error  doesn't know how to open this address because the protocol (e) isn't associated with any program . So how to add the tag ................... Thanx..

I got this code _______________________________________________________________ void Page_Load(object s EventArgs e) { DirectoryInfo di = new DirectoryInfo(E:\Backup\Documents); FileInfo[] rgFiles = di.GetFiles(*.pdf); foreach (FileInfo fi in rgFiles) { Response.Write(  + fi.Name +  ); } } _______________________________________________________________ I can see all the files in the directory but i can't click and open any of them. I can click and read the pdf file only if that file is in the project folder. If the file is not in the project folder an error is shown. So how to generate a href link with reference to a specific folder on hard disk............eg: path - E:\Backup\Documents .
