how to select record show in gridview in asp.net

Hi if you already define the column names in Gridview then the retriving columns (Tax and Percentage) will add like follow. Because of using this line. dataGridView1.DataSource = dt; In grid it will show Tax_ID Tax percentage TaxPercentage // the values should be in under Yellow Marked Tax and Percentage For that u should remove your Tax_ID Tax percentage columns from gridview. then there will be no Tax-Id. while you use datasource no need of column creation in Gridview. because datasource is directly binding the data to grid. Another method for load the data to datagrid. we can use foreach. without datasource. for this method you Should create columns to the Gridview. then select the neccessary data from database and load that in datatable. then use the follow code. foreach(DataRow dr in dt.Rows) // In this dt is my Datatable { grid.Rows.Add(dr[Tax]..ToString()dr[Percentage].ToString()); } // For the above code i created Tax and Percentage columns in my gridview. // the above code is doing the simple task that get the value from datatable (dt) and add that to the grid. Your code is right but in Gridview iam deffin the columns name Tax_ID Tax percentage And Tax_ID is hide now tell me what to do....??/

you did well. see your code. that green line. Select * From Tax; // * means all columns in table. Replace Your * By Taxpercentage like this. adapt = new SqlDataAdapter(select Taxpercentage from Tax con); con.Open(); DataTable dt = new DataTable(); adapt = new SqlDataAdapter(select * from Tax con); adapt.Fill(dt); dataGridView1.DataSource = dt; con.Close();

i have seen you image. your code was wrong. Executenonquery will not retrun the value. we can't use that for select. in your code you were fill the datatable by adapt (SqlDataAdapter). but you never pass that adapt in your SqlCommand. do you understand now what mistake you did. SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand( select Taxpercentage from Tax con); SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter(cmd) these two lines not in your code. kindly check your code and my code. and finaly replace your code with mine. Any doubts replay me.
