How to set a default value to a textbox

If you are using Telerik UI Control instead of normal textbox try this : private void textBox1_Validated(object sender EventArgs e) { if ((( Telerik.WinControls.UI.RadTextBoxControl )sender).Text == ) { (( Telerik.WinControls.UI.RadTextBoxControl )sender).Text = 1; } } Or simply set text value on Form Load if textbox value is blank. if (txtunits.Text == ) { txtunits.Text = 1; }
