how to subtract time in my sql

Question

dear friends i have a varchar column named NowTime which stores a date time value. eg: 0/3/2013 4:25:00 AM i want to reduce two NowTime values in a query and get the difference. Is it possible?? How can i do it?? thanks a lot.

check this query select time_to_sec(timediff('2010-09-01 03:00:00' '2010-09-01 00:10:00' )) you can pass the parameters also to that query or you can get details from this link http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/date-and-time-functions.html#function_timestampdiff

try it.. declare @NowTime varchar(100) set @NowTime='10/3/2013 4:25:00 AM' declare @NowTime1 varchar(100) set @NowTime1='1/3/2013 4:25:00 AM' select CONVERT(datetime@NowTime)-CONVERT(datetime@NowTime1)
