how to take automatically backup in last day of week

Question

hi

i m tying to take back up of my database in every last day of week

but i can not match and find path and day of my week

suppose i set day Saturday then project every saturday take bakup in my select path and exist file will be replace

but i m not compaire the last day and how to save path which is always save my software to backup

help me in code and logic

There is another way of scheduling using AT with dbcc in sqlcmd utility for sql server 2005. you can find details in the link its basically AT 16:00 /every:M,T,W,TH,F,S,SU "Sqlcmd /Usa /P /S /i c:\ /o c:\ " http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162294

It will really help if you could be more careful about writing your question, and I think the main problem is not a language issue. One problem is that I don't know what "tack" and "i t" means. Does "i t" mean Information Technology (IT)? I really think I answered the question "how to set the time for every Saturday" but again I don't know what "to tack back up" means. As I said, I don't think the main problem causing me to be unable to understand is not a language problem; I think you simply are not providing some critical information. For example, you don't say what language or environment it is and I suspect that the language and environment are important information. I also don't know what "set path every Saturday" means.

Instead of creating an application you can schedule back up of your database in Sql Server Itself by working on following steps (Make sure your login username has admin rights). Start SQL Server Management Studio. In the Connect to Server dialog box, click the appropriate values in the Server type list, in the Server name list, and in the Authentication list. Click Connect . In Object Explorer, expand Databases . Right-click the database that you want to back up, click Tasks , and then click Back Up . In the Back Up Database - DatabaseName dialog box, type the name of the backup set in the Name box, and then click Add under Destination . In the Select Backup Destination dialog box, type a path and a file name in the Destinations on disk box, and then click OK . In the Script list, click Script Action to Job . In the New Job dialog box, click Steps under Select a page , and then click Edit if you want to change the job parameters. Note In the Job Step Properties - 1 dialog box, you can see the backup command. Under Select a page , click Schedules , and then click New . In the New Job Schedule dialog box, type the job name in the Name box, specify the job schedule, and then click OK . Note If you want to configure alerts or notifications, you can click Alerts or Notifications under Select a page . Click OK two times. If above is not what you want then a windows service application will be the kind of application you would need, where time is set using timer control and its sleep method appropriately. otherwise there might be other scripting techniques.

sorry for that i mean i want to crate an application which can tack backup of my database now the backup is create every Saturday and i set my path that will be save backup file and last backup file will be replace but issue 1. how to set the time for every Saturday to tack back up 2. and save my path in my application i m not set path every Saturday i t will automatically tack and i want to change it will be chabge i hope u understand

I am not sure I understand. If I understand, then you can use DateTime.DayOfWeek to determine what DayOfWeek a DateTime value is for, then add the appropriate number of days to that value to get the date for Saturday, or something like that. Does that help?
