how to take DataBase Backup from remote server to local system

hi..
i want to take the DB Backup from the
remote server to the local system..
i'm using sql server2008 enterprise edition and the remote server is sql server2008 express
how to do it..

please help me...

Open My Computer then Map Network Drive. Please use Bing/Google to get how to map netwrok drive. Once it is done then give path like Z\backup\back.bak instead of \123.123.1.12\backup\back.bak Remember Z here is a sample. You need to give the proper drive letter for your machine.

Do you want to take backup from SQL Server installed in a machine that is exposed to internet with public IP? If this is your question then yes you can. If you know the credential and if your local machine can ping that public IP you can surely do it.

thanks.. i've two system one is server which uses OS windows server2008 and another is my system which uses OS XP prof SP3 i've created one folder called backup in my system and in sharing mode the sql command when i run i server system it will fine.. but now.. the same i've created one folder in server and kept in sharing mode. now when i run the command the error is displayed.. how to pass login crediantial wat to do..

thanks for replying.. i want to take backup from remote server. the following is what i did.. sql command= backup database employee to disk='//123.123.1.12/backup/back.bak' Msg 3201 Level 16 State 1 Line 1 Cannot open backup device '\123.123.1.12\backup\back.bak'. This is specific to credential issue... Please provide correct password to logon to 192.168.4.122

Connect to Remote SQL Server 2008 then right click on Database -> Task -> Backup. Then put Backup destination and click options to specify which type of backup do u need. Then click OK to take backup
