How to update the month and year ?

My update query is

Update tbfacilityreceiptitems set Batchno =' D001',mfgdate=10/2014,expdate=12/2020, MRP =10, sellingprice = 0.32, SaleTaxPercentage = null , SaleTaxType = 'null' where facreceiptitemid = 2763

Please help me and rearrange my update query

Sir first i take month and year from date using to_char function. Again i will update only Month and year into that column in same date.
