How to write expression in SSIS

Question

Expression to append how do i write expression like : if postal code is greater than 5 digits = postal code or Postal Code ( Append 9998 to 5 character postalcodes.)

i have a column 'postal code' there could be postal codes from any country. if postal code is from us it will be five digits. so incase if its 5digits i have to append 9998 to it and if the postal code digit is more that 5 digits  it will be whatever digits there as postal code in that column. i hope this is clear. i know it has to be done in derived component with expression but i dont know how..
