hello can any one give a suggestion how write procedure to get the start date of the year to tilldate of the year. Thanks and advance

The SQL function DATEDIFF() can give you the time between two dates. it can give you seconds minutes hours days(maybe more).

In SQL Server - GETDATE will get your the current date. You can use the DATEPART function to extract the year and concatenate a '1/1/' to the year to create the first day of the year. Not sure if that was what you were looking for...
