Hrybrid behavior of the refresh command of the crystal report viewer?

hi In a button click event the crystal report support retreive a value based on a value entered to a seach box at the last line of the button_Click( ) i have put reportviewer. refresh( ) . this should load the report with new values to the report viewer. Also there is a refrsh button on reportviewer when i click it asks for the search value and the dialog comes from crystal reports not from C# How do i disable this? (the Dialog comes form crystal report)

When you click the refresh button it starts to generate the report again and finds the values for the parametrs are not set. Then it prompts the user with the crystal report dialog box. If you want to hide the refresh button you can set showrefreshbutton = false; Or else you can set some default values for parameters and set ReuseParameterValuesOnRefresh = true; This will reuse the parametervalues and it will not prompt with the dialog box. showrefreshbutton  ReuseParameterValuesOnRefresh are properties of crystalreportviewer class.

You don't say which version of Visual Studio or Crystal Reports but the Viewer control should have a property called ShowRefreshButton. Alternatively there is also a ReportRefresh event which will fire when you click the button but I think this will be fired when you initially load the report as well so you'll need to selectively override it by setting e.Handled to True.
