Why do people make a simple background image width and height smaller like 50 by 50  etc.......

Can you give me a tutorial to show me how to exactly create the background that way in photoshop or some application. Any tutorial links I can go to for reference

Hi David The reason behind doing so is very simple to keep the background look consistent across the height and width. They repeat that image for every corner of the HTML element be it the body or a Div or any element. Hope I answered your question :) Mark it as answer if it helped. Cheers!
