Hi Experts I am having a question on some requirements i have. 1 ) Can we connect excel as a database to an html page ? Your help is greatly appreciated.....

Hi Sir. Thanks for the reply I am now coming into more specific details. I am designing a html page .In the html page i have a dropdown list with products in the list.So when the user selects any value from the dropdown menu i am trying to get the respective prices from the excel sheet .I am just using htm land excel sheet only. I have made a fair bit of progress in here by using the javascript Here is my script var Excel Book; // Declare the variables Excel = new ActiveXObject(Excel.Application); Excel.Visible = false; textbox.value=Excel.Workbooks.Open(C:/Documents and Settings/kvasudevula/Desktop/my.xls).ActiveSheet.Cells(11).Value In the above script it would read only the first column and first row.But now i want to check for the value taht has been selected in the dropdown list and fill in the prices . YES. So you have to connect to an Excel sheet load data into a DataSet/DataTable and then display in a HTML using ASP.NET Grid or other controls. Search this site for how to read and Excel in ADO.NET.
