Hi What is the difference between HTML and ASP.NET controls.

Well both are types of server control and need the : runat=server attribute to work. However the difference is that HTML controls always map to standard HTML elements. In contrast ASP.NET Web controls do not necessarily do so and can therefore be more complicated or have more features than HTML controls.
